Family, congregants, and more will be gathering together to remember and celebrate the life of a well-known Winnipeg pastor, next week.

Leon Fontaine died on November 19, 2022, after a brief battle with an "aggressive" cancer, according to a statement released by his family last week. Fontaine led Springs Church in Winnipeg as well as a campus in Calgary, along with a grade school and ministry school, and was the CEO of a television station.

His death shocked many, including his family, with tributes pouring in from around the world.

On Thursday, the church announced the plans for Fontaine's funeral. It is scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, 2 p.m., at Springs Church's main campus in Winnipeg (595 Lagimodiere).

The statement says, "Please join us... as we gather to celebrate the life of our Pastor, Leon Fontaine."
