A 45 year old Winnipeg man is facing a number of charges after the stolen vehicle he was driving hit the ditch in the R.M. of Stanley.
Morden RCMP responded to the call around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning on Road 36 West, just north of Highway 3.
The initial investigation has found a couple passing by stopped to assist the man, and noticed the vehicle didn't have license plates and the dasboard was damaged. They called police, and when officers arrived on scene, they determined the driver had two outstanding warrants; one from Saskatchewan and one from Ontario. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Winnipeg overnight.
The man was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and two counts of Failing to Comply. He was remanded into custody.
Morden RCMP continue to investigate.
