The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are gearing up to host the Sioux Lookout Bombers to begin a two-game weekend series tonight. Puck drop will go at 7:30. Then they switch it around tomorrow, where the Bombers will get home ice advantage.
Dryden sits second in the SIJHL standings with 30 points. Sioux Lookout sits close in third with 28.
The Beaver Brae Broncos and the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints boys and girls hockey teams went back and forth on the ice this week. The Bronco boys beat TA 5 – 1, but the girls came out swinging winning 7-0 – with goals from six different skaters. Addyson Greer had two goals in the win.
In the NHL, The Calgary Flames aim to snap their four-game losing skid tonight when they return home to face the St. Louis Blues. Three of Calgary's last four losses have come by shootout or overtime.
In other action, Minnesota hosts Chicago and the New York Islanders head to Arizona to face the Coyotes.
And the Toronto Raptors will try to end a three-game losing streak when they host the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA. The Nets have won nine of their last 11 - a run that started with a 112 - 98 victory in Toronto last month.
