After a week of inclement weather, Manitoba residents can finally breathe a sigh of relief as all weather statements and warnings have been lifted.

However, while the snow may be coming to an end this weekend, a return to bone-chilling temperatures is on the way.

The special weather statement for southern Manitoba has been lifted as the Colorado low finally pushes east, also bringing an end to the blowing snow advisories.

Winnipeg can expect to see another 2 centimetres of snow today, with winds from the north at 30 km/h and gusts up to 50 km/h. Periods of light snow may continue through Monday.

The temperature will fall to -15 this afternoon, with a wind chill of -25. And, unfortunately, the cold snap is set to continue into the week, with daytime highs expected to be in the low to mid -20s by mid-week.

Manitobans should not get too comfortable just yet as a Colorado low finally moves out of the province.
