Lakeside area residents are advised of an increased police presence in their neighbourhood tonight.

Officers with the Kenora OPP say they’re searching for a suspect related to a number of attempted break-and-enter incidents in the Lakeside area over the last few nights, with the suspect attempting to gain entry into vehicles, sheds and more.

The OPP says the suspect’s name could not be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

Residents are reminded to always double-check that their property is locked, safe and secure. Tips include always locking up, never leave your vehicle running and unattended, park in a well-lit area if you can and hide valuable merchandise or pieces of identification within the vehicle.
