Curtis Hall
November 16, 1961 – December 27, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Curtis Hall, of Blackie, Alberta. He passed at the age of 61 on the December 27, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.

Curtis was born on November 16, 1961, to Charles and Jane (née Wourms) Hall in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. After graduating high school, Curtis began his 40 year career with Richardson Pioneer. In 2022, he retired and looked forward to spending his time with friends and family as well as hunting, camping, golfing, and travelling.

He married his wife Arlene (née Crone) in July of 1983, and in 1987 they moved to southern Alberta where they raised their three children Morgan, Jannelle, and Coulton. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Shane, and Jordy Hall and daughter in-law Brittany (Gammel) Hall (Morgan Hall); his son-in-law Mark Harper (Jannelle (Hall) Harper), Danielle Pittman (Coulton Hall); his mother Jane Novecosky; his sisters Cynthia Stumborg, and Kelly Tarnowski; and brothers Greg Hall, and Colin Hall.

Everyone who knew Curtis felt his big heart and giving nature. He was known for his kindness, humor, and mild temperament. He was truly a peacemaker and was always a source of positivity. He made the time to show up for everyone who reached out, providing caring, trustworthy counsel and support. He simply wanted to brighten lives in his days and that he surely did. Anyone who knew Curtis knew that he was the most loving husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and son a family could ask for. He shared this same love with his community of friends, professionals, and acquaintances.

Curtis was a hardworking man of strong character and exceptional sense of humor; he was always ready to have a laugh and bring joy to the situation. He went by many nicknames such as Clyde, Claude, Left Hand, Cortez, and Kev. He especially enjoyed time spent with family in the summer months, camping, boating, diving in the most spectacular ways, optimizing his tan, and playing games. His love for sports went beyond the Boston Bruins, as he was devoted to the Blackie community by coaching youth sports and sitting on various boards such as the Ag Society, Minor Hockey, and the Lions Club.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Curtis on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Highwood Centre (128 5th Ave SW, High River, AB), with livestreaming available. In lieu of flowers, and given the avid support that Curtis gave to youth sports, the family asks that you help keep that spirit alive by donating to your local organizations that do the same. We will miss him every day.
