In loving memory of...

With his family by his side, Dad passed away peacefully, the morning of February 20, 2021.

Dad left Hungary during the Hungarian revolution in 1956. After working in Austria he came to Canada where he worked at many different jobs in different places, eventually ending up in Kenora. He also worked different jobs in Kenora before the Paper Mill hired him in 1965. He worked at the Kenora Mill for 30 years, before retiring in 1995.

Dad met Mom while he was cooking at the Kenricia Hotel in 1960. They got married in May, 1963. In 1964, their first child, David (Mary), was born. Michael was born two years later in 1966. He was predeceased by his dad, Antal, mom, Illona and three sisters, Agnes, Mary and Kathy in Hungary; and father-in-Law, Bob, mother-in-law, Florence, and brother-in-Law, Bob(Amy) Duke in Kenora.

He is survived by his wife, Lee in Kenora, sons, David in Brandon, Michael in Kenora, grandchildren, Jarvis and Louise in Brandon, many nieces and nephews in Hungary and his sister-in-law, Amy, nephew, Jason (Megan) in Winnipeg and niece, Jennifer (Roger) in Whitehorse, as well as his many friends.

Dad enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood for his stove, and going out blueberry picking with his quad.  Dad loved to talk to anyone who would listen until his hearing failed him. He also liked to make grape wine in his spare time and made a yearly batch of wine right up until he passed.

Many thanks to the wonderful, caring Doctors and Nurses at Lake of the Woods District Hospital. He received excellent care in his final days at the Hospital.

Dad was cremated and due to COVID, a family service will held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of ones choice.
