A number of street closures in the area are expected to be in place throughout the day, the City of Winnipeg's Traffic Management Centre says.
Closures include Gertie St. between McDermot Ave. and Bannatyne Ave. Both Bannatyne and McDermot are also closed in the area for emergency equipment.
The City is asking motorists to avoid the area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available but the building is considered a complete loss.
