There are a pair of games tonight in the SIJHL, including a battle between the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and the Sioux Lookout Bombers in Sioux Lookout.
The Dogs are two points up on the Bombers in the tight race for the second, third and fourth spots in the standings.
The Bombers are 4-0-1-0 in their last five games.
The two teams have split six previous games this season. The last was on December 17, a 2-1 overtime win for the Bombers in Sioux Lookout.
Landon Stromme has been equally as impressive for Dryden, with a four-game point-scoring streak of his own where he’s registered two goals and five assists.
Teammates Jordan Pfoh and Bryce Benfield are also carrying four-game point-scoring streaks into tonight’s game.
Game time at the Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena is 7:30 p.m.
Northern Lakes split NorWOSSA Division A games with Red Lake yesterday.
Northern Lakes senior boys’ basketball team beat the Rams 41-38, while their junior girls’ volleyball team swept their opponents in two straight games.
The junior boys’ basketball team lost 47-34. The senior girls’ volleyball squad lost to Red Lake in five games.
Chalk up three wins for the St. Thomas Aquinas court sports teams. The girls downed Pelican Falls in both games they played yesterday.
The Saints senior girls won three sets to one, while the TA junior squad got by the Timberwolves in two straight sets.
The Saints senior boys played an exhibition basketball game against Beaver Brae and came away a 78-51 victory over the Broncos.
Today, St. Thomas Aquinas court sports teams are at home to the Northern Lake Voyageurs from Atikokan.
This is the Saints' last action until after the exam break.
In boys' high school hockey action, the Beaver Brae Broncos are up against the Dryden Eagles tonight.
Game time is 7:00 at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
