In the SIJHL tonight, the Sioux Lookout Bombers are set to take on the Dryden GM Ice Dogs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
The Dryden GM Ice Dogs hold down second place in the SIJHL standings and Sioux Lookout is two points back in third, though the Bombers have a game in hand.
The Fort Frances Lakers lost their 13th straight in an 8-2 loss to the Thunder Bay North Stars last night. Ryker Watt and Kevin Bonds scored for the Lakers. The two teams play again in Thunder Bay tonight.
The Dryden Eagles court sports teams dropped all four games they played against the Fort Frances Muskies yesterday.
They were make-up games which were cancelled prior to Christmas.
In senior boys' basketball, the Eagles were dropped 51-21. Holden Langtree led Dryden with 8 points.
In junior boys’ action, a much closer game, but the Muskies prevailed over the Eagles 36-34 in overtime. Emmerson Moir paced the Eagle attack and Kaedyn Mackenzie hit 3 three-pointers in the defeat.
In girls’ volleyball, the Eagles junior team lost in two straight sets, while the Muskies topped the Dryden senior squad 3-1.
The Eagles are now off until after the exam break when they play the Muskies again on February 7th.
