Rita Marie Just
February 1, 1940 – January 29, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Marie (nee Worms) Just of Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, (and formerly of Bruno, SK). Her death occurred at her residence on Sunday, January 29, 2023. She was 82 years of age. Rita was born to Michael and Margaret (nee Jasken) Worms on February 1, 1940, at home on their farm in the Pilger, SK, district, and grew up there with her five siblings. She met the love of her life, Bernard Just, whom she married on November 3, 1959. Bernard and Rita farmed in the Bruno, SK, area until they moved to Humboldt in 1997. The perfect picture of the farm wife, Rita could drive the 3-ton, haul grain, feed the animals, manage a huge garden, have a delicious meal ready, and raise the children. All this could be done in record speed if Bingo or a dance was mentioned! She loved music and visiting with family and friends. Being part of the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was very important to her. Both Rita and Bernard were avid card players. They passed that love of cards onto their children and grandchildren. Even the three-and-four-year-old great-grandchildren were learning to play Bingo with cards and money. They had to have their little containers of nickels (beavers), quarters (moose), and dimes (ships) to play with great-grandma Rita. It was always with great excitement that they would talk about going to great-grandma Rita’s or waiting for her to come visit. She was such a fun-loving, caring person. We are sure that every one of you can think of a time when you were enjoying Rita’s company, whether it would be singing, dancing, partying, wagon-trekking, or playing cards. Rita will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Louella (Lloyd) Schedlosky, their four children and seven grandchildren, with two more on the way: Myra, Adam (Steph) and Kaden, Ashton, and Carson, Keith (Chantal), Bohden, and Rome (and one on the way), and Landon (Kerri), Finley and Elsie (and one on the way); and by her son, Leslie (Kim) Just and their two sons Kyle (Nikeesha), and Dakota (Morgan); and by her four brothers: Gerard (Debbie), Erwin (Lili), Wilfred (Gwen), and Ray (April) Worms. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard; her parents, Michael and Margaret (née Jasken) Worms; and by her sister, Eilleen. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. John Ezeoruonye. Others taking part were: Justin Worms, cross bearer; Chantal Schedlosky and Stephanie Schedlosky, scripture readers; Kerri Schedlosky, intentions; Morgan Beaulieu and Nikeesha Goodsman, gift bearers; Jerry Lemke, eulogist; and Jeff Worms, urn bearer. Music ministry was provided by director Loretta Schugmann, organist/pianist Carol Esler, and members of the St. Augustine Parish Choir. Honorary Pallbearers were “all those who shared in Rita’s life”. Pallbearers were Myra Schedlosky, Adam Schedlosky, Keith Schedlosky, Landon Schedlosky, Kyle Just, and Dakota Just. Interment followed at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery.
