The Portage Terriers' win streak ends at four games. The Dogs dropped a 5-2 decision last night in Selkirk against the Steelers.

Aiden Anderson opened the scoring less than a minute into the first period for Selkirk. Mike Stubbs was able to tie the game near the midway point of the frame but it was all Steelers from there.

Owen Weihs and Tyson Smith gave Selkirk a 3-1 lead going into the second. Carter Cormier built the lead up to three goals halfway through the period. However, Tayem Gislason gave the Terriers some hope late in the frame with his first goal since being acquired by Portage.

Unfortunately for the Dogs, that’s all the offence they would be able to produce. Cormier put home his second of the game with under two minutes left in the third to seal the deal and give Selkirk their first win over Portage this season.

The Terriers will have a chance to redeem themselves tonight as they return to Stride Place for a meeting with the Winnipeg Freeze at 7:30.
