It is with a broken heart that Donna announces the passing of the love of her life, Keith William Appel, on Tuesday Feb 7, 2023 at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw. Keith battled a rare disease called primary lateral sclerosis.

Keith was born on Nov 1, 1967, in Regina, SK.  After graduating from Melville Comprehensive School, Keith continued with secondary education at SIAST in Moose Jaw, but he was much happier driving and acquired his 1A license.  He drove around the province with Midwest Coin and then worked for the RM of Grayson.  Keith drove for both Kuntz Harvesting and Rieger Trucking hauling grain.  He also drove for Dempsey Laird Trucking, the CO-OP, Engelheim Charters, and Hallcon Crew Transport. Keith also spent about 10 years with Univar Canada.

Keith enjoyed visiting with friends, watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders, travelling on holidays, playing guitar, cheering for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, going to church, and playing with his dog, Bucky.  Keith was a member of the Knights of Columbus of the Fourth Degree and was very proud of this accomplishment.

Keith met Donna Levasseur in late 2007.  They were inseparable from that point forward.  Keith and Donna were married in Grayson on July 30, 2011.  They moved around a lot, but spent the majority of their time together living in Lanigan, SK.  As retirement was approaching and Keith’s health was declining, they decided to build a home in Moose Jaw that could accommodate mobility issues.  Unfortunately, his disease progressed faster than anticipated and their time in the house was shorter than they expected.

Keith is predeceased by his mother, Marguerite (2004); his father, Harold (2023); and his only sibling, Cheryl (2019).  Keith is also predeceased by his grandparents; uncles: Vern, Bill, Arnold, Walter, and Ed and aunties Barbara, Hazel, and Edna.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Donna, as well as his Uncle Barry, Auntie Alvina, Auntie Freda, and numerous cousins.

Prayers will Friday February 10, 2023, at 7 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grayson, SK.
