On February 8th, the Winkler Police Service received three reports from the Garden Valley School Division of vehicles passing a stopped school bus while red lights are activated and the stop sign extended.

To help keep students safe, police are reminding drivers to be prepared to stop for school buses.

The fine for passing a school bus while red lights are activated and stop signs extended is $672.

In a different police file, officers arrested and charged an 18-year-old male for two sexual assaults on a female.

Winkler Police say the assaults happened in January, and the male was arrested on February 6th.

He was released on an Undertaking with Conditions to not have contact or communication with the victim.
