Women, Girls, LGBTQ, 2-spirited and all others who are missing and murdered will be honoured and remembered this afternoon in Portage la Praire with a walk and vigil event.
The Sexually Exploited Youth (SEY) Portage Central Region Awareness Team is hosting the event, hoping to bring awareness to a difficult topic.
The event starts at 1 p.m. at City Hall with a speech from Mayor Sharilyn Knox and a prayer and drum ceremony. From there, those attending will walk to Prairie Fusion Arts & Entertainment, where guest speakers, an art exhibit, and refreshments will be provided.
