A 27-year-old male is facing numerous firearm-related charges following an investigation by Morden Police.
The investigation began on Valentine's Day after police were informed of a vehicle that was taken without the owner’s consent. Fearful of the suspect, the victim advised police about a firearm inside a residence located in the City of Morden.
Through their investigation, police located the firearm and determined it had been stolen from a business in the RM of Dufferin in January.
The male was located and arrested for the stolen firearm.
As a result of this investigation, the 27-year-old has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Contrary to an Order, Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime, Take Motor Vehicle without Consent and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
He was remanded into custody to appear in Winnipeg Provincial Court.
