March 13, 1929 – February 19, 2023

Edward Leo Hoeflicher was born March 13, 1929, in Cudworth, SK, and baptized in Grace Lutheran Church, Middle Lake, SK. Ed passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Regina Lutheran Home, Regina, SK. He was surrounded and wrapped with loving care and comforted by family. Ed is predeceased by both his parents, Gustav and Lydia (nee Baran) Hoeflicher, as well as his brother Walter, and sister Clara. He is also predeceased by his son-in-law, Joe Lesperance. Ed leaves with us, his wife of 65 years, Shirley (nee Long) Hoeflicher; and his five children and six grandchildren: Grace (Gary) Long of White City, SK; Jean Hoeflicher of Regina, SK; Norine Lesperance of Regina, SK; Roland (Jodie) Hoeflicher of Canwood, SK, with Reid, Joelle (Tristan), and Josie; and Mark (Elaine) Hoeflicher of Middle Lake, SK, with Mason, Rayanne, and Daylan. Ed met Shirley at Camp Lutherland. They married on July 9, 1957, and farmed west of Middle Lake where they raised five children. Ed’s life-long occupation has been farming. He enjoyed picking stones, picking berries, and looking after livestock. Ed loved to do word search puzzles and read his Bible. He was always there to help out, whether it be farming, family, community, and/or church related. Ed never kept track of time but there was always lots of time to do what he wanted and loved to do. There is a time for everything. “Our family would like to thank everyone at the Care Home for their acts of kindness.” The Funeral Service was held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Regina, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Ted Giese, with the sermon by Pastor Howard Ulmer. Music ministry was provided by organist Lorna Pederson. Active Pallbearers were Ed’s grandchildren, Reid, Mason, Joelle, Rayanne, Josie, and Daylan. Honorary Pallbearers were Ed’s godchildren, Emilie, Sharon, Robert, and Michael.
