It is with great sadness that the family of Inez Hutchinson announce her passing in hospital on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the age of 97. Inez was born May 5, 1925, in Saskatoon, SK to Arthur and Mabel Smales.  She lived in Kenaston, SK until age five, when the family moved to Chamberlain, SK.  She completed her schooling in Chamberlain, then moved to Moose Jaw where she met and married, Donald Miller.  They raised their two children, Doug and Leslie, on the family farm west of Moose Jaw in the Archydale district.  Sadly, Don passed away at only 38 years of age, leaving Inez to raise two young children on her own.  She was working as an office manager for a Cookware company in Moose Jaw, when she met and married her second husband, James Hutchinson in 1957.  They had a daughter, Darcee, a little sister for Doug and Leslie.

She was an avid bowler in her younger years.  She enjoyed knitting, reading, and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Minto United Church, Actettes and the YMCA. She enjoyed watching Curling, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.  In 2017 she moved to West Park Crossing where she continued to be active doing various activities and daily walks with her best friend, Edna Dobie.

Inez is predeceased by her first husband Don Miller in 1955; her second husband Jim Hutchinson in 1986; mother Mabel Smales in 1957; and father Arthur in 1960. Lovingly remembered by her three children son Douglas (Linda); daughters Leslie; Darcee (Doug); seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  Also, long time family friends, Dolores and Leo Coburn of Swift Current, SK.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at West Park Crossing, where Mom happily resided for the past five years.  Also, the Doctors, nurses, and staff at Wigmore Hospital for taking excellent care of Mom in her final days.
