Marvin Kenneth Cameron passed away at the Foyer in Ponteix, Saskatchewan on April 17, 2023. He was born on October 18, 1934 (or 1933 depending on which birth certificate you read) at home in the Tompkins, Saskatchewan area. He was not registered for a birth certificate until he started school, and somehow there was a mystery about his birthdate, and he ended up with two birth certificates. Over the years he worked on many farms and ranches, as a police officer in Eastend, a garage, an auctioneer and as a livestock worker for Lang Livestock and Saskwheat Pool/ Viterra/ Heartland. He moved to the farm in Cabri in 1996 and remained there until February 2022, when he moved to the Foyer in Ponteix due to failing health. His greatest loves in life where his family (especially grandchildren), horses, and his dog. He loved to visit and tell stories. He brought birthday cakes and pumpkins every year for Jessica and Casey. He attended many horse shows, dance recitals, and ball games. He loved to watch sports, and go to brandings and rodeos.
Marvin is survived by his daughters Melissa (Darren) and Rhonda, sons Lance and Darren (Penny), step children; Brent (Melanie) Friesen, Blair Friesen and Brad Friesen. Grandchildren Jessica and Casey Douville, Tristan and Riley Friesen, Jodie Phillips, Jeff Phillips, Kayla, Cain, and Cole Cameron, Danielle and Denise. Sister in law Doreen Cameron, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Marvin was predeceased by his parents Duncan and Mary Cameron, wife Carolyn Cameron, in-laws Faye and Bill Bos, and Ed Cator. Brothers and sisters (and in laws) Richard and Helen Cameron, Walter and Delores Cameron, Robert Cameron, Archie and Iris Cameron, Doug Cameron, Ester and Nick Tyzuk and grandson Cody. Dad was the last child in his family to pass away.
Memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice or spend extra time with your family making memories. Dad did not want a big funeral. A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday May 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM, at the Cabri Community Hall.
