Judith Catherine Stahl
June 2, 1947 – April 27, 2023
75 Years
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mrs. Judith Stahl (nee Kainer), 75 years of Bruno, on Thursday, April 27, 2023, with her family by her side.
Judy was born on June 2, 1947, to Michael and Helen (nee Einsiedler) Kainer at Humboldt Hospital. She attended Kildrum school grades 1-8, St. Ursula’s Academy grades 9-12 and graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1968.
Judy began her 39-year nursing career at Rosetown Hospital and Saskatoon City Hospital. After marrying Rodger Stahl in 1969, Judith worked at SEH in Humboldt until she retired in 2007. Together Judy and Rodger ran a mixed grain farm operation. They raised horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. Judy enjoyed farm life.
Judy had four major loves in her life, family, faith, nursing and friends. Judy’s love for her children and grandchildren was unwavering and ran deep. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them, creating and making memories. Judy will be remembered for her calm, quiet and caring manner. Her dedication and passion for her work created the perfect recipe for a “great nurse”. Judy would attend a monthly breakfast with her other fellow retired nurses, and before going, she always required new pictures of her family to share, stating “I need bragging pictures”.
Judy enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, travelling, camping, curling with her brother Jim, and watching horse racing. She followed the racing circuit for over 30 years, making many friends and memories along the way.
Judy will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, son Michael Stahl and her precious grandchildren Jorja, Cash and Quade, all of Warman; and son Evan Stahl and daughter-in-law Sadie and her precious grandchildren Georgia, Alabama and Chip, all of Bruno, SK; sister-in-law Louise Tetzlaff of Prince Albert; brother-in-law Reynald Niebrugge of Humboldt; sister-in-law Rosalie Brandl (Roger) of Fort St. John; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Judy was predeceased by her parents Michael and Helen Kainer; husband Rodger Stahl; sister Anne Niebrugge; brother James Kainer; niece Delayne Kainer; niece Cheryl Feader, parents-in-law Charles and Rosa Stahl; sisters-in-law Geraldine Paydli and Josephine Hassen; brothers-in-law Albert Hassen, Norbert Tetzlaff and Donald Paydli.
A Funeral Mass for Judy was held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, celebrated by Fr. Pius Schroh. Interment followed in the St. Bruno Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in Judy’s memory may be directed to Bruno Senior Citizens Friendship Centre (Box 485, Bruno, SK, S0K 0S0).
