You could soon find key tags in your mailbox, as the War Amps begins its 2023 key tag mailing to Estevan and the surrounding area this week.

The War Amps said in a release that each tag has a confidentially-coded number. The finder of lost keys can call the toll-free number on the back of the tag or place them in any mailbox in Canada, and the War Amps will send them to the owner for free.

The War Amps said the Key Tag Service started in 1946 so returning war amputee veterans could work for competitive wages and provide a service to Canadians that would drum up funding for War Amps programs.

The service continues to employ amputees and people with disabilities. Over 1.5 million sets of lost keys have been returned to their owners.

You can order key tags or find more information at waramps.ca or by calling 1 800 250-3030.
