Alyssa Jewel Pomfret
April 19, 1992 – May 28, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden death of Alyssa Jewel Pomfret, 31 years, of Saskatoon. Alyssa was born on April 19, 1992, to Jayson George and Rhonda Pomfret in Saskatoon. Alyssa began her elementary school days in Guernsey and Nokomis School, and at age 10 she moved to Lanigan to live with her dad and Corinne. After her dad's passing, Alyssa and Corinne welcomed Warren into their lives. What a blessing that was. She attended elementary and high school there. After high school, Alyssa moved to Saskatoon and finished her education at John Dolan School. Upon completion of her education, Alyssa attended the L’Arche day program. There she developed many new friendships and became very mischievous by playing pranks on the staff, especially Emma. She brought much sunshine to everyone she met, her infectious smile and laugh made everyone’s day brighter. If you knew Alyssa you would agree that her hugs were the best, everyone enjoyed receiving a hug from her. She loved visiting family, friends and hanging out with her roommates, Stephanie and Sherri. This trio always found fun in anything they did, from fires in the backyard to doing crafts and baking. Alyssa loved family birthdays, especially hers! Music also brought her much happiness and she thoroughly enjoyed the Phoenix dances. Alyssa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her parents Warren and Corinne Braun and stepbrothers Brayden Braun, Darren Braun all of Drake, and Jordan Braun (Karly) of Leader; Aunt Nicole (Joji) Gordon and cousins Kaine, Kale and Zavien all of Saskatoon; Uncle Clint (Kelly) George and cousins Bryson, Daylen and Kyran all of Estevan; Uncle Randy (Lily) Pomfret and cousins Pamela, Fernanda and Arianna all of Regina; Half-brother Tyler Walker of Nokomis and grandmothers: Hazel Pomfret of Nokomis, Carol Danylczuk of Guernsey, and Ruby Braun of Drake; also, members of the Pomfret family, George, Danylczuk, Engele, Sagh, and Keslick families. Alyssa was predeceased by her father Jayson George; grandfathers: Bill Danylczuk and Ben Pomfret; along with members of her maternal and paternal families. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from the Lanigan Community Center, Lanigan, officiated by Kevin Sawatsky. A Private Family Interment followed at the Lanigan Public Cemetery, where she was laid to rest with her father. Memorial donations in Alyssa’s memory may be directed to L’Arche (Saskatoon) or Camp Easter Seal. A recording of the service will be available for viewing from June 3-14, 2023 on the Malinoski & Danyluik website.
