A ribbon cutting was held on Friday to mark the start of construction on phase one of Reinfeld Park.
Members of the community's park committee, the Reeve and Deputy Reeve for the RM of Stanley, and Borderland MLA Josh Guenter were on hand for the occasion.
Phase one work includes bringing water and electrical service into the site, and building an outdoor arena complete with arena boards made with stainless steel, galvanized, and aluminum materials.
"I have three young kids, and I want them to be active and outside," said park committee member Ryan Friesen. "We don't have much community space in Reinfeld, so we've taken them to other places for a long time. When the opportunity came up to help with this, it was a no-brainer."
The 15-acre Reinfeld Community Park, which is under development, is located on the west side of the community, just north of Pembina Avenue East.
