Incorporating technology into education continues to be an area of importance for schools in Portage la Prairie.

Westpark School recently added 30 new Chromebook computers to their inventory to ensure students have access to technology.

"We were getting more technology into the hands of more children and that's helping them reach their academic goals," says David Citulsky, Director of Technology at Westpark.

Citulsky says that the evolution of technology is as essential now as it ever has been.

"Teaching students the skills that they'll need to research and vet information that they find out in the world. We have the whole world at our fingertips now, and now we can teach the kids how to find that information and vet it for accuracy."

For the last two years, Citulsky has been with Westpark, and he explains that the school chose to go with the Google device due to their excellent education platform.

"I love technology, and I love what we're doing here. I love the atmosphere and culture that we are breeding here, and that is something that I found is just second to none."

Westpark will now have 120 computers available to students when the next school year starts in September.
