The family of Jean Elizabeth Holt (nee Clark) is saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Humboldt District Hospital. Jean was born on October 28, 1941, in Wadena Hospital, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was the cherished daughter of Gladys Vigoren and George Clark. Gladys hailed from Rose Valley, while George was born in Winnipeg, MB.

Jean spent her childhood in the Park Villa area and received her education there. Her compassionate nature led her to become a nurse's aid at Quill Lake Hospital. Later, she embarked on a culinary journey alongside her beloved husband, Norm, as they served as cooks for various camps up north. Subsequently, they ventured into farming, nurturing the land together.

On June 2, 1961, Jean and Norm exchanged vows in Quill Lake, celebrating a union built on love and commitment. Jean actively participated in her community, serving on the Clair Hall Board and contributing to the Clair Cemetery. Her passion for baking and cooking shone through her delectable creations, with perogies and cabbage rolls holding a special place in her heart. Jean also found joy in the art of crocheting, showcasing her creativity and skill.

Jean leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her best friend, her furry companion, Star. She is also survived by her two sisters: Marian Marshall (Ron & Julie and family, Gwen & Roger and family) and Margaret Bowman (Jim) (Melanie & Kevin, Jason & Andrea and family, Amanda & Chris and family, Talon), as well as her brother Gerald (Gail) (Dwayne & Joanne and Loretta & Scott and family); and sister-in-law, Jean Holt who was also an integral part of her life.

While we mourn Jean's passing, we find solace in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Norm, as well as her parents Gladys and George, and her parents-in-law, Albert and Elsie. Jean was predeceased by her caring brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Roy (Bonnie), Lloyd, Archie, Gary, and Jean Silzer (Norm); nephew Gilbert Marshall and niece Liza Marshall.

As we bid farewell to Jean Holt, let us remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and community. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
