An ongoing investigation of trafficking of a Controlled Substance by the RCMP of Portage la Prairie led to the recovery of stolen property and seizure of drugs.
On June 9, officers with the Portage la Prairie RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS), along with officers from the Portage Detachment, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Fisher Avenue in the City of Portage la Prairie.
Their search resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of heroin, numerous bottles of illicit pills, several weapons, drug-related paraphernalia, and a large amount of stolen property.
Police arrested Ernest Gregory, 31, of Long Plain First Nation, who was remanded into custody on charges including:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking,
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x2,
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon x2
- and Trafficking in Government Documents.
