5 to 15 centimetres of snow are expected to fall in the Dryden and Sioux Lookout areas Monday into Monday night.

As a result, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Savant Lake and the surrounding communities.

Environment Canada notes with temperatures slightly above the freezing mark, rain could mix in with wet snow which would reduce snowfall amounts.

Areas closer to Armstrong and Lake Nipigon could see higher amounts of snow.

The system is expected to move out of the region Monday night.
