Thursday afternoon collision on Hwy 14 sends 8 people to hospital

Eight people were taken to hospital after a collision involving three vehicles in the RM of Rhineland late Thursday afternoon.

Pembina Valley RCMP responded to the accident just after 5 pm.

The collision happened on Hwy 14 at the intersection of Road 10W.

RCMP report a pickup truck, travelling eastbound on Hwy 14, had stopped on the Highway indicating a northbound turn. A 2nd vehicle (mini-van) stopped behind it as it waited, and a third vehicle (pickup truck) did not realize the 2 vehicles had stopped and collided with the rear of the 2nd car which then caused this vehicle to collide with the first pickup truck.

In total, eight people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing.
