The Altona Angels Softball club saw a record number of players register to play ball in 2023.

The club saw 110 ten players register to play ball this season.

To mark the strong season, executive members organized a Softball Night on the last Monday in June. They felt it was the perfect way to celebrate the hard
work and accomplishments of these young athletes, the families that support them plus the volunteer coaches and managers that make it happen.

All those attending feasted on hot dogs and watermelon before the players took part in a Skills Showcase and several intrasquad games at the W.C. Miller
Collegiate softball diamonds.

Angels spokesperson Rachel Wahl said it was fantastic to see so many Angels at one location, playing softball and cheering from the sidelines.

The club is supported by over 30 dedicated volunteers, including  parent and non-parent coaches, assistants and team managers, as well as numerous
parents who step in to help as needed.

In a news release, Wahl thanked the evening's sponsors, as well as the Town of Altona for the work on diamond scheduling and the Borderland School Division for the use of the diamonds.
