In a tight game Tuesday, the Swift Current 57s managed to rally back to pick up a 5-4 win against the Weyburn Beavers. Weyburn had started off with an early lead, but the 57s managed to chip away at it, ultimately leading to the final score.

The strong start for the Beavers came courtesy of the bat of Ryan McCarthy. He hit a three-run home run in the first inning to give Weyburn the early edge. However, the 57s quickly responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning, thanks to a solid hit from third baseman Eric Gonzalez.

The 57s closed the gap in the third inning with another run, then a two-run home run from Cory Bonstrom would even the score up at 4. Things would remain that way until the bottom of the eighth inning when Carter Hinds hit a triple to bring home what would be the game-winning run.

Both teams displayed excellent pitching and defence, resulting in a thrilling battle. Weyburn's starter, Ethan Webster, went five innings, allowing four runs and striking out two. Despite his efforts, he was tagged with the loss. On the opposing side, 57s pitcher Connor Batzer had a solid outing, lasting seven innings and surrendering three runs while striking out six.

Despite the loss, McCarthy had a standout performance for Weyburn, going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs, including his home run. Third baseman Ryan Muizelaar also contributed with a hit and a run.

The Weyburn Beavers will have a chance at redemption as they face the Swift Current 57s again Wednesday night at Tom Laing Park. The first pitch is shortly after 7:00 p.m.
