The Government of Saskatchewan has designated July 9 to 15 as Parks Week, a celebration of the province's breathtaking landscapes and recreational areas. With a diverse range of events and programs available in provincial parks, visitors are invited to explore and immerse themselves in the beauty that Saskatchewan has to offer. The Parks, Culture, and Sport Minister, Laura Ross, highlighted the excitement and opportunity Parks Week brings to residents and tourists alike.

One of the standout events during Parks Week is the Cannington by Candlelight, set to take place at Cannington Manor Historic Provincial Park on July 15. Visitors can step back in time and experience the park's historical significance while enjoying the ambiance of candlelight. The night will also include the sharing of tales that are better told after sunset. Another unique attraction is the Plywood Regatta at Echo Valley Provincial Park, where participants can compete in a thrilling boat race.

On Saturday, Saskatchewan joins the nation in celebrating Canada's Parks Day. In honour of this special occasion, the province will host an assortment of family-oriented events and theme days across various provincial parks. Visitors can enjoy guided hikes, engage in sandcastle-building contests, unleash their creativity with camping-themed crafts, participate in Amazing Races, embark on thrilling scavenger hunts, and partake in exhilarating water games, among other exciting activities.
