William (Bill) Desjardins
1942 – 2023 (age 80)
With deep sadness we announce the passing of Bill on July 16th, 2023 at the Portage District General Hospital.
Bill was an outgoing person until he got sick. He walked everyday to get a paper. He enjoyed going to bingo where he met a lot of friends. He loved going to watch his great nephews the Nash Boys dance with David. He was always ready to go for a ride and travelled. He had a passion for dogs, especially his best friend Buddy. Bill was a long-time truck driver… he never complained about being on the road. He loved watching wrestling with his best friend Art Gladue and his great nephew Robert Nash.
Bill was predeceased by his mom and dad Frank and Myrtle (nee Paul) Desjardins, brother Walter (Delina), sister Marjorie (Clarence) Lilley, children Brenda and Ed, his daughter in-law Anita Frederickson, one infant granddaughter, brother in-law Joe Barnes, Alf Cardinal, nephews George and Daryl, and niece Diane.
Bill leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his life sons Wayne and Howard, daughter Valerie (Ray) Harder, sister Doreen Cardinal, Ed (Linda) Desjardins, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We will sure miss him!
The family would like to thank the staff and Doctors at the Portage District General Hospital for their care they provided for Bill.
Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, at Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie, MB at 2:00 p.m. The graveside location is in Section 2 of the Roman Catholic section of Hillside Cemetery. Friends and all family are welcome to attend.
