Southport Aerospace's first Commercial Tenant Grant Award was presented on July 7th to Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) Canada. Southport’s Director, Business Development, Deanna Talbot, presented ACE’s Manager Alfred MacLaren with a $2,500 cheque.
MacLaren says they put the money toward a project to upgrade their lighting system.
"We decided to upgrade the lighting fixtures in our existing building from fluorescent to LED," says MacLaren. "The process has been completed and we are enjoying the new LED lights. It's made a tremendous difference in our office; a positive change."
MacLaren adds their building had over 300 light fixtures that required replacements, allowing them to enjoy a significant decrease in hydro costs.
"It's more modern looking and just far better lighting," adds MacLaren.
Southport’s Director, Business Development, Deanna Talbot, presented the cheque, and says, "We created this commercial tenant grant to recognize the investments our tenants are making on our site. We value the dedication our tenants have in making this a better community to live, work and play."
Talbot adds that supporting greening initiatives, such as lighting upgrades, makes a substantial difference for the environment. Southport is eager to support this effort and commends ACE Canada for its step forward to a cleaner and greener community!
