A 19-year-old was arrested and charged following the theft of gas from a local gas station last Sunday.

Morden Police received a report from the local gas station that a male had filled his vehicle up with gas and fled the scene without paying. 
    
The suspect vehicle was later located in Winkler, along with the suspect. 

The male was arrested for Theft Under $5,000 and released on an Undertaking to appear at Morden Provincial Court in September.

 

Multiple speeding tickets along with a handful of other fines were issued by the Morden Police Service last week while on patrol.

One driver was issued a $482 ticket for going 133 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.

The other two tickets for speeding were given to drivers clocked going 27 km/h and 25 km/h over the posted speed limit.

Three other drivers were caught not wearing a seatbelt while driving, an infraction that carries a fine of $298.

Two tickets for driving while Unregistered and one ticket for unlawful transportation of liquor in a vehicle were also given out.

Three tickets for using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle, which carries a fine of $672 and a 3-day driving suspension, were also issued during the reporting period of July 17th to July 31st.
