Albert Maurice Moisan
December 30, 1947 – August 2, 2023
Albert Maurice Moisan was born on December 30th, 1947, to Maurice and Cecile (née Bourque) Moisan. He was one of four siblings in the family, and he spent his childhood playing sports and going to school in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan. After high school, Albert moved to Saskatoon and became an Automotive Technician, where he worked at Saskatoon Motor Products from 1970-1978. In the early spring of 1968 Albert met the love of his life, Sandra Ann Mason and they were married a year later on August 16th, 1969. Soon after they were blessed with three children Jackie, Christine, and Dean. In 1978 Albert moved his family to Humboldt where he was self-employed at Mid Town Gulf for several years before opening Midway Muffler & Brake. Then in 1986, partnering with his brother and good friend they renamed the business Midway Auto Clinic. During this time, he and Sandy were very active in the community, being members of the Jaycee/Jaycetts, participating in a weekly bowling league, and running with their children from sport to sport. They also loved spending family time at Marean Lake; boating and fishing in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. In 1994 they moved from Humboldt to Canmore, Alberta. Here he worked at Heinz Ford, but by 1997 they decided to move back to Saskatchewan, to a hamlet near Buffalo Pound, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. After moving to the Moose Jaw area, Albert worked at Western Dodge from 1997-2008 and had wonderful friends who loved quadding, fishing, and spent many hours card playing and popcorn eating. Albert had many hobbies, which included wood working; model trains and cars; building, driving, and flying his RC boats, cars, and planes; snowmobiling, waterskiing, boating, fishing, motorcycling; and listening to music. One of his real passions though was traveling and would spend many hours planning trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Disneyland, Deadwood, the East Coast, and numerous trips to the mountains. In 2008, after his wife’s passing, Albert again packed up and moved to Humboldt, where he went to work at Discovery Ford. After his move back, he spent numerous hours shining up and touring on his Harley. Soaring in the wind was his happy place! He loved riding with a crew of friends to Sturgis, trip to the Islands, and day trips, stopping for lunch and taking in the sites. Albert’s most precious time spent was with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, attending their sports games, school plays, Christmas concerts, craft shows, rock concerts, birthday parties, graduations, and weddings. He was always proud of his whole family and couldn’t wait to be with them. Albert will be lovingly remembered by his three children; Jackie Pruden (Garrett) and her family: Taylor, Jennafer and son, James, and Lisa (Kale); Christine Lamping (Cory), and her family: Justin (Jenna) and son Jacob, Colton, and Grayson; Dean Moisan, and family; Kelsey (Marco), and Sara, and their mother Melanie McLeod; brothers Norm (Ev) Moisan and Ernie (Helen) Moisan; sister Lillian (Lyle)Wagner; mother-in-law Violet Mason; sister-in-law Jean (Calvin) Gammel; daughter-by-heart Tammy (David) Morgan; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and coworkers. Albert was predeceased by: his wife Sandra (2007); father Maurice (1995); mother Cecile (2008); father-in-law Jim Mason (2000); brother-in-law Barry Mason (1990); and sister-in-law Marcy Moisan (2005). The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Paul Oshin. Others taking part were: Al Keller, cross bearer; Maurina Kimmen and Sarah Rohne, scripture readers; Pamela Arnason and Tammy Morgan, prayers of the faithful; Tyler Gosselin and Aaron Keller, gift bearers; and Steph Keller and Stephanie Bartel, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by the St. Augustine Funeral Choir, Lorretta Schugmann, director, and Carol Esler, pianist. Urn bearer was Justin Moisan; and honorary pallbearers were “All who shared in Albert’s life”, with an honor guard created by the Discovery Ford Family. Following the service was a memorial luncheon at St. Augustine Parish Hall, with a eulogy delivered by Les Hilgers.
