Many positive adjectives can be used to describe Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation's (BTHCF) Charity Golf Classic held on Thursday.

Golfers hit the links for the annual tournament at Morden's Minnewasta Golf and Country Club.

Foundation Board Chair Ben Friesen says the day turned out a record result, having the max of 152 golfers in. Friesen says they had a waitlist, and due to some people not being able to make it, everyone on the waiting list made it in as well, filling all 152 seats.

"Without doing the final calculation, we do know that we raised over $80,000 today, and it's just absolutely fantastic. And a great big thanks to the sponsors for all of that," said Friesen.

"Unbelievable," said Shannon Samatte-Fokett Foundation Executive Director. "I guess I'm speechless. We raised a record amount of money. The support was outstanding. Everybody had fun. The weather was great. The food was delicious, the round was fast. I'm overwhelmed."

The funds raised from this tournament go to the Foundation's regular budget, which supports the hospital's Spiritual Care and Palliative Care programs, as well as to help supply additional equipment for the hospital.

Next year's Charity Classic will be held at the Winkler Centennial Golf Course.
