Two 50 hectare fires burning near Kenora

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry reported nine new fires across the region today, including Kenora Fire 26 which has grown to 50 hectares.

Kenora Fire 26 is located approximately 34 kilometres east of Kenora, near Little Narrow Like and is currently listed as 'out-of-control.'

Kenora Fire 27, which is also 50 hectares in size, is located approximately 52 kilometres north of Kenora, near Moosehorn Lake and is currently listed as 'out-of-control.'

Kenora Fire 26 and 27 were discovered less than an hour apart.

The forest fire hazard is listed as moderate to extreme across the region.
