HILL

It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon Pascoe Hill announce that our much beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023 with his family by his side.  We take comfort in the knowledge that he is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We are also heartened at the thought of him now being able to spend time getting to know his Great Grandson, Cruz Vandermulen.  Gord was born to Roy and Vina Hill of Boharm, SK on December 14, 1929.

Gord’s love for family was strong and extended to his many nieces, nephews. And in laws.  He always had time for a chat and enjoyed following the lives of the people he loved, particularly the younger generations.  He was one of our greatest cheerleaders.  His ability to be intentional with his visits and to make seemingly small events into life-long memories will echo in his family for generations.

In 1955, Gord met and later married his wife of 68 years, Mary Kostyniuk.  Together they built a family and a farm in the Belle Plain District.  Gord thoroughly enjoyed farming and the friends and neighbours it brought into his life.  He was always ready to go in for a coffee or to stop on the road for a chat with a neighbor.  Gord was a sportsman who collected many friends and trophies through years of curling.  It was the friends who mattered the most to Gord.

Gord loved his family and his family loves Gord.  Gord was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Vina; stepmother, Muriel; sister, Margaret (John) Parr; brothers: Burleigh, Doug (Muriel), Don and Bob; sisters-in-law, Vicki (Rich) Arnold, and Annie (Jack) Markin; great grandson, Cruz Vandermeulen.  He was also predeceased by nieces, Brenda Hill, and Patti Markin; and nephews, Robin Hill, Brian Arnold and Michael Parr, with whom he shared a special bond of friendship.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary; sisters-in-law, Marg and Robbie; children: David (Debbie), Peter and Maria (Ron); grandchildren: Ginger (Gerald), Tami (Shaun), Jordan (Crystal), Chad (Mireille) and Jenna (Eric); great grandchildren: Adison, Macy, Teagan, Nala, Clark, Thomas, Bennett, Sadie, and Rylie.

The Funeral Service for Gordon will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Ron Gray will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gord’s name may be made to Citizens All Moose Jaw, 410 Hochelaga Street East, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0P3.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Cara Ashworth Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
