IRWIN MANSKE
December 19th, 1934 – August 18th, 2023
Irwin Edgar Manske aged 88 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Friday, August 18th, 2023. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; parents, Emil and Ida; and brother, Arthur. Irwin is survived by his three daughters: Yvonne Dyck (Elmer), Maxine Sesula (Dwayne), and Lorelea Manske; grandchildren: Larissa Sych (Matt), Steffen Rommelaere (Mandy Mann), Dylan Rommelaere (Savanna), and Summer Okerstrom; sibling, Agnes Cairns; in-laws: Bev Noble, Lillian (Les) Willford, and Gerald (Gladys) Noble; as well as his great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Irwin attended Eddyside School until he was needed on the family farm, which was located 8 miles east of Coronach, SK. He worked for a time in Moose Jaw mixing cement. He purchased his first quarter of land at the age of 15. On October 17th, 1953 Irwin married Joyce Noble and established their own Christ-centered home and farm life for 67 years. Three daughters completed their family — Yvonne in 1955, Maxine in 1961, and Lorelea in 1971. Life consisted of hard work and long hours, but still always taking time to lend a helping hand to neighbours and friends.
Sundays were spent attending church, followed by quality family time including boating, ball games in the yard, and table games. Irwin’s musical talents were enjoyed by exclusively family on Friday nights after the Tommy Hunter Show when he brought out his accordion or electric guitar.
In 1987 Irwin and Joyce moved to Moose Jaw where Irwin continued to farm and added off-season employment at a local gas station. He became actively involved in co-ordinating shuffleboard at the Cosmo Centre and making new church and community friends.
Irwin’s love for games, especially crokinole, was obvious as he and Joyce spent hours playing with close friends, relatives and even just themselves. A highlight of summer was the Sandy Creek Gospel Jamboree at Besant, which was spent with special friends and family, and complete with a roadside coffee break between Besant and Moose Jaw.
Irwin will always be remembered for his unwavering faith in God, weekly attendance at church services, dedication to caring for family, perusal of local dealerships in consideration for his next purchase, and his perfectionism, made evident in multiple relocations within Moose Jaw. Even to the very end, Irwin’s morning prayers included praying for every family member by name with their specific need for that day.
Irwin went peacefully and courageously to be with his Lord and Saviour with his three daughters by his side. He will be forever loved and cherished.
