Therese Weber (née Bremner)
November 28, 1954 – September 2, 2023
Therese (née Bremner) Weber, a devoted wife, and proud mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023, at the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, surrounded by her loving family. Therese left behind a legacy of love and friendship. Her kind spirit and capacity for unconditional love touched the lives of all who knew her. Therese was born on November 28, 1954, in Cudworth, SK, to Eugene and Lauretta (née Meidl) Bremner. Gifted in customer service, baking and cooking, Therese spent her working life serving others. She met many lifelong friends while working at The Met, Peavy Mart, and the Convent. You could always count on her to share too much about herself and family, offer a friendly smile or engage in the local news. Therese loved the simple things in life… a well-kept lake lot at Lucien Lake, spending time with her kids and grandchildren, baking and cooking for her extensive list of friends and family. Therese met her husband, Kenneth Weber, when she moved to Humboldt, SK, in 1984 and they were married on August 15, 1987, in Verndale, SK. Therese’s passion was her family, and she devoted her life to creating a warm and loving home for her children and grandchildren. Therese will be lovingly remembered by: her husband of 36 years Kenneth Weber Sr.; and their four children: step-son Kenneth J. Weber, his family: Dawson (Dan), Jayde, and Kylie; daughter Melanie (Mark) Bender, her family: Brandon and Emma; daughter Corrine (James) Hyde, her family: Nicole and Jenessa; and daughter Carrie-Anne (Sheldon) Derbowka, her family: Daxon and Emmett; her two sisters: Stella (Jerome) Dobmeier and Maureen (Ron) Cook; one brother Allan (Fran) Bremner; and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by: her parents Eugene and Lauretta (née Meidl); father and mother-in law Frank and Anne Weber; and her sister Florine (John) Ollerich. The Prayer Service was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., with Bev Trach presiding. Scripture readers were Margaret Fortowsky and Joylene Johannsen, and the eulogist was Fran Bremner. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Paul Oshin. Others taking part were: Sheldon and Daxon Derbowka, crossbearers; Maureen Cook and Marianne Grieman, scripture readers; Nora Gies, intentions; James Hyde, Mark Bender, and Kenneth J. Weber, gift bearers; and Nichole Hyde, Jenessa Hyde and Emma Bender, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by director Loretta Schugmann, pianist Carol Esler, and members of the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir. The urnbearers were Therese’s grandchildren; and honorary pallbearers were “all those who shared in Therese’s life”. Following the service, a memorial luncheon was held at St. Augustine Parish Hall. Memorial donations may be sent to St. Mary’s Villa Foundation (PO Box 1743, Humboldt, SK, S0K 2A0).
