Manitoba First Nations Police (MFNP) received a call last Sunday regarding an assault on Long Plain First Nation, which resulted in the discovery of much more.
Officers attended to an address in the 200 block of Ojibway Drive on September 3 to arrest a man. Shortly after Officers arrived, the man fled into the surrounding bush area.
Additional MFNPS K-9 Units and a Drone Operator were requested to help attend the area. After a lengthy search, the man was arrested, and officers located 116 grams of Methamphetamine in his possession. This amount of Methamphetamine has a reported street value of $11,000.00.
38-year -old, Kevin Vincent Peters was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Assault
- Resisting a Peace Officer
- CDSA 5(2) Trafficking Methamphetamine and;
- 3 Outstanding warrants for arrest
Peters was held in custody and appeared in court on Tuesday (September 5).
