ROBINSON
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our mom, nana and big nana, Carol Robinson on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, surrounded by her family. Carol was born October 22nd, 1941 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and was the eldest of 3 children. She attended Prince Arthur and King George during her elementary school years and went on to graduate from AE Peacock Collegiate in 1959.
Carol entered the workforce at a young age at De Rosenrol & Associates as a bookkeeper and continued there until she was married in 1961, when she became a stay at home mom and farm wife after the birth of her 2 daughters, Colleen and Erin. Carol re-entered the workforce once the girls were school age in 1975 as a bookkeeper at the Park Hotel. Here she met many lifelong friends and the love of her life, Ernie Nesnick. She continued at the Park Hotel until 1987, then moved onto working at Extendicare as a bookkeeper until her health kept her from working. Throughout the years Carol role modelled hard work and devotion to her children as a single mother and provided her girls an example of independence and perseverance. Carol took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and flourished in the role of matriarch of the family. If you knew Carol, you know how infectious her laugh was, and how much it will be truly missed.
She was predeceased by her mom, Grace Blackwell; brother, Rusty Blackwell; partner, Ernie Nesnick; and great-granddaughter Desirae Gabel. Carol is survived and lovingly remembered by her brother, Robert Blackwell (Andrea); daughters, Colleen (PJ) and Erin (Mark); grandchildren: Brooke (Jordan), Morgan (Brodie), Cody (Farrah), and Cole (Alex); and great-grandchildren: Jace, Javen, Lelind, Liam, Zander and Olivia.
A special thank you to the staff of the Medical and Intensive Care Units at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for their compassionate and dignified care of Carol during her final days. Additional thanks to the staff of Maguire Centre, Homecare services and the Laboratory staff throughout the last 8 years.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes, a Private Family Celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.
