Leo Augustine Pratchler
August 18, 1938 - September 20, 2023

Leo was born August 18, 1938 to John and Maria (nee Helmrich) Pratchler in Humboldt, SK. He attended the Golden Rule School from grades 1 to 8. He obtained his high school diploma at St. Peter’s College, then went to Saskatoon where he attended St. Thomas Moore University.             

In the early 60’s, Leo moved to Fort St. John, BC. This is where he met and married his wife, Patricia Armstrong. He adopted Patricia’s son, Chad, and together they had three more children, Kurt, Harriet, and Bart.

In the late 60’s, Leo moved his family to Saskatoon. He began working at the Potash Mine just outside of Saskatoon. When he left his employment at the mine, he worked as a maintenance supervisor at a school in Saskatoon until his retirement. After several years, he moved back to Humboldt. He spent his last few years at St. Mary’s Villa in Humboldt, until his passing on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.               

Leo had many interests in life, some of which were woodworking, machining, and hunting gophers. He spent many weekends helping his brother, John, on the farm in Muenster.     

Leo will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Agnes. He was predeceased by his youngest son Bart; his parents John and Maria; his brothers Joe, Andrew, John, and Matt; and by his sisters Appalonia, Gisella, and Mary.               

A Funeral Service for Leo was held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt, led by Funeral Celebrant Debbie Sarauer. Interment followed at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Muenster.
