It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norbert Konrad Gossner, who departed this world on September 19, 2023, at the age of 87. Norbert was a beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather, whose presence touched the lives of many. He was born on April 3, 1936, in the close-knit community of St. Gertrude, SK. Norbert grew up to become a skilled farmer, dedicated family man, a talented mechanic, and a masterful carpenter. His hands were always at work, whether it was tending to the fields, repairing machinery, or building homes for his children, which provided them with secure and loving environments to thrive. Norbert's devotion to his family was unwavering and they were the pride of his life. He cherished every moment spent with his children and supported their dreams and endeavors with boundless love and encouragement. Not just a father, Norbert was also a doting grandfather. He drove countless hours to watch his grandchildren excel in their sports and extracurricular activities. His presence on the sidelines was a testament to his unwavering support and his deep love for each of them. Norbert had a passion for hunting and fishing, which he enjoyed sharing with his friends, his son Randy, and his grandson Gage. These cherished moments in the wilderness were a demonstration of his love for the outdoors and his desire to create lasting memories with his loved ones. His sibling bonds were unbreakable, and as a family they created memories that will be shared for generations. In addition to his family, Norbert had a wide circle of friends and neighbours who admired his work ethic, kindness, and genuine nature. He was a man of few words but spoke volumes through his actions, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by: son, Randy (Marni) Gossner and family: Lilou and Josie; daughter Tanja (Ryan) Wilson and Family: Gage and Danica; his brothers: Tom (Carol); and Richard (Kathy); his sisters: Loraine (Maurice), Mary-Anne, Tina (Bob), Ione (Phil), and Marlene (†); and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Norbert’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be cherished forever, and his legacy will live on through the love and values he instilled in his family and friends. As we say our final goodbyes to Norbert, may we remember his commitment to family, his industrious spirit, his love for the outdoors, and his enduring love that will forever remain etched in our hearts. A celebration of Norbert's life will be held on September 30, 2023, at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel in Humboldt, SK, at 4:00 PM. Interment, as a final resting place for his earthly remains, will take place at St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Cemetery, with a get together at Gertrude Hall afterwards in St. Gertrude, SK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the St. Gertrude Cemetery Fund in Norbert's honour, as a tribute to his generous spirit.
