It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allan William Kanak, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. He was 62 years old.
Allan was born on February 21, 1961, the third child of William and Pauline Kanak. He grew up near Rose Valley where he also attended school.
Allan dedicated the majority of his years to a career in trucking, traversing the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
After facing a life-altering stroke, he moved to St. Mary’s Villa in Humboldt, where he enjoyed helping the other residents and tending to the flowers and tomato plants in the shared courtyard.
Allan is survived by his mother, Pauline (nee Luchak) Kanak; two children: Roxanne (Cameron) Symon and Layne Kanak (Chloe Volk) and their mother Judy Kanak; and siblings, Adeline (Bill) Wilson, Marlene Brink, Mark (Anita) Kanak, Andrea (Latif) Baluchi and Dennis (Moira) Kanak, in addition to many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his father William (Bill) Kanak, grandparents Max and Donnie Kanak and Nick and Mary Luchak, and nephew Richard Wilson.
A come and go social, viewing and luncheon will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home & Crematorium Humboldt, from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a Private Family interment at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Rose Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation to honour Allan's memory.
