According to Winkler Police Chief Ryan Hunt, emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes of Highway 14 at 15th Street on Wednesday. A stalled commercial vehicle was unable to proceed at the green light,  and was hit from behind by a silver SUV, which was then struck by a red sedan.

The driver of the SUV did go to the hospital to get checked out, but Hunt said no serious injuries have been reported.

He reminded all drivers to be aware of their surroundings, and that it's the driver's responsibility to be able to stop and be able to make sure they can apply the brakes in time when something is on the roadway ahead of them.
