The Central Cyclones managed to put the first points on the board in the Rural South Football League championship game Saturday afternoon, but the Weyburn Comprehensive School Eagles would be the ones soaring by the end of the game, winning 28-8. The win is the third consecutive league title for the Eagles.

Eagles quarterback Conner Kerr went 8-for-13 through the air, throwing three touchdowns, including a 95-yard strike to Nolan Uhren in the first quarter. Isaiah Sanderson also had two touchdown receptions, including a 42-yard reception and a five-yard major.

Max Crane would record a pick-six in the win as well.

With the win, the Eagles advance to the provincial semi-finals next weekend, when they host the Greenall Griffins from Balgonie at Darold Kot Field.
