Arrest made in Lundar murder investigation
Following the discovery of the remains of Lyndon McIvor on August 31, from Lake Manitoba First Nation, it was determined that the death was suspicious.
McIvor was reported missing on August 27, and his remains were discovered on August 31. Lundar RCMP had been investigating.
Barry Leslie Swan, 36, has been arrested for the homicide of McIvor, charged with 2nd-Degree murder, and was remanded into custody.

Manitoba RCMP are sharing sad news Friday afternoon regarding an update about an individual they had asked the public for help in finding earlier this week.
On Monday, Lundar RCMP was seeking help in locating Lyndon McIvor of Lake Manitoba. Since then, searchers have reportedly found human remains believed to be McIvor the following Thursday.
The RCMP notes that this death is considered suspicious.

RCMP cross a man with Portage connection off most wanted list
A man whom the RCMP had on their most wanted list for the western part of the province has been captured by police.
Mckenna Wombdiska had been wanted by the RCMP since August 10. Police warned the public that the 23-year-old could have been in Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, Portage la Prairie or Brandon.
PortageOnline has reached out to the RCMP regarding the arrest but have yet to hear further details.

Major Crime Services, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and Portage la Prairie RCMP are investigating after a 51-year-old man was located dead outside a vehicle near Road 44 West in the RM of Treherne.
The cause of death remains under investigation as police await the autopsy results. Manitoba RCMP is classifying this death as "suspicious."

RCMP traffic stop leads to discovery of large amounts of suspected methamphetamine & cocaine in Portage
Officers from the Portage la Prairie RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday with a vehicle on Fisher Avenue East, leading to the seizure of suspected drugs.
The police report says that the driver was arrested and refused to identify himself during the stop. Subsequently, the driver and vehicle were searched, and officers located a large quantity of cash and approximately one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.
The driver was identified and was wanted on an outstanding warrant of arrest.
Stolen and burned Kia Rio raises questions for Portage RCMP
Portage la Prairie RCMP are searching for answers after receiving a call about a stolen vehicle from the 100 block of 5th Street SE last week.
According to the police report, the suspect was able to take the keys to the 2016 red Kia Rio from a table inside the facility on August 18.
Officers say this vehicle was located the following day and burned on Townsite Bay in Sandy Bay First Nation.

RCMP search for suspect after $30,000 worth of vape accessories stolen in Portage
A business on Saskatchewan Avenue in Portage la Prairie was the victim of a large heist last Sunday, as a suspect made away with over $30,000 worth of vape cigarettes.
The suspect was caught on a security camera loading a red-coloured Dodge Journey with no licence plate.

15-year-old Preston Bradstock was located by Manitoba RCMP Wednesday in Fisher Branch.
Bradstock was reported missing on Tuesday to Sylvan Lake, Alberta, RCMP.
The teenager had been missing since July 23.
