Valleyview, Sioux Narrows classrooms reopen
Classrooms affected by COVID-19 exposures in Kenora and Sioux Narrows have both reopened to students and staff members.
Staff with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board say the closed classes at Sioux Narrows Public School and Valleyview Public School have reopened, under the direction of the Northwestern Health Unit.
All students and staff members were able to return to their classrooms, however, the COVID-19 outbreak designation remains in place at Valleyview until further notice.
Grande Prairie active cases of COVID-19 drop below 100
As of November 28, 2021 the City of Grande Prairie has 88 active cases of COVID-19, and the County of Grande Prairie has 92 cases.
Cases of COVID-19 across the rest of the province sit at 4,850 active cases.
Hospitalizations are currently at 432, and a total of 77 Albertans are in intensive care receiving treatment.
November 30: COVID-19 update
The Northwestern Health Unit has reported five new COVID-19 cases have been found in the district.
Two cases have been discovered in both the Dryden/Red Lake, and Kenora Health Regions, and one case in the Rainy River Health Region.
Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts has started according to protocol. Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be contacted directly.
Currently, in the region, there are 17 active cases connected to the NWHU catchment area.

Guthrie speaks out against vaccination policies leading to dismissals
Airdrie-Cochrane MLA Peter Guthrie rose in the Legislative Assembly to express concern over the number of government organizations, institutions, and businesses implementing vaccination policies that call for the firing of people who don't comply.
He says the government is heading down a slippery slope if it creates legislation or supports policy that may well be unconstitutional.
Less than 100 new COVID-19 cases Monday
The Government of Manitoba is releasing more details on this weekend's COVID-19 cases, including that they are watching for a new variant of concern.
Omicron
Public health says no cases of the B.1.1.529 (omicron) variant of concern have been identified in Manitoba. Ontario reported its first two cases on Sunday.
"The province continues to monitor the situation and work with federal officials in the fight against COVID-19 and its variants," Public Health says in a Monday statement.

No cases of the B.1.1.529 (omicron) variant have been detected in Manitoba at this time and the province can confirm that all positive travel-related specimens are being sequenced.

Holiday air travel expected to soar in Manitoba
Families preparing for holiday travel for the first time in years will need to brush up on the latest flying regulations.
This holiday season will have many more families flying in and out of Manitoba at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport. Communications Manager Jennifer Cameron says the Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) has seen travel pick up this year and is preparing for a busier December than the year before.
