Lowered age requirement for breast cancer screening eligibility

 

Earlier this week, a change was made to Breast Cancer screening eligibility was made for women in Saskatchewan, with required age lowered to 45-years-old.  

This change is part of a strategy to lower the screening age within the province to 40-years-old within the next 12 months. Lowering the screening age is aimed towards detecting breast cancer at an earlier age.  

Ex-Bronco Matthew Perkins attending Vancouver Canucks Development Camp

 

Former Humboldt Bronco Matthew Perkins has been invited to participate in the Vancouver Canucks Development Camp for the second straight season. 

The camp began on Monday and will end on Thursday. 

Perkins was selected by the Canucks in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft.  

Lanigan's Kyler Lone & Reese Stroeder named HCAA Scholarship recipients

Lanigan Central High School’s Kyler Lone and Reese Stroeder have been named this year recipients of the 2025 Horizon Central Athletic Association scholarships.  

Kyler has been accepted into the Kinesiology and Education Combined Degree Program at the University of Saskatchewan and plans to become a teacher and a coach of high school athletics. 

Key dates for the SJHL's 2025-26 regular season

Following last week’s schedule release, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced some key dates for the upcoming 2025-26 regular season.  

Martensville will host the Western All-Star Challenge between November 3-5. The camp will feature the best U19 players trying out for the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge, which will be held in Trois-Rivieres, QC. 

Double the fun for East Central 15U AAA Dodgers with two wins against North West

The East Central 15UAAA Dodgers picked up a Sunday sweep in their doubleheader against the North West Sun Devils in Muenster.  

In the first game, the Dodgers picked up a dominating 10-0 win. Reid Griffith had three hits and drove in three runs.  

Saywer Pollon also had three hits and scored twice.  

Kyler Fischer had two hits.
